Coding Smackdown

FF4WinMo

Ever since FriendFeed had released its API, I’ve been seeing a lot of people looking for a Windows Mobile Client. Since I missed out on the Twitter wave, I thought I would try and catch the FriendFeed wave and have built a client for Windows Mobile 6.x Professional (with touchscreen) devices.

Below is a list of the current features:

  1. Ability to pull the following Feeds:
    • Home
    • Public
    • Lists
    • Rooms
  2. Retrieve a user’s feed.
  3. Auto refresh a feed at a user specified interval.
  4. Launch links associated with post using your default browser.
  5. Ability to read the last 5 comments for a post.
  6. Ability to auto refresh a comment stream forĀ  near real-time discussions.
  7. Ability to view images associated with a post or launch them in your default browser.
  8. Ability to post a “Like” for the selected post.
  9. Ability to search FriendFeed, with help for the most common search features.
  10. Ability to display a user’s information and browse to their FriendFeed profile.
  11. Ability to post to your feed or a subscribed room.
  12. Ability to associate a Url to a post.
  13. Ability to upload multiple image with a post.
  14. Navigation Gestures for all features, no need to use a stylus to navigate between posts.
  15. Background Communications, allows you to continue to read posts while updates occur in the background.

I hope you find the application as useful and fun to use as I have.

The application requires the .Net Compact Framework 3.5 which can be downloaded below:
