Ever since FriendFeed had released its API, I’ve been seeing a lot of people looking for a Windows Mobile Client. Since I missed out on the Twitter wave, I thought I would try and catch the FriendFeed wave and have built a client for Windows Mobile 6.x Professional (with touchscreen) devices.
Below is a list of the current features:
- Ability to pull the following Feeds:
- Home
- Public
- Lists
- Rooms
- Retrieve a user’s feed.
- Auto refresh a feed at a user specified interval.
- Launch links associated with post using your default browser.
- Ability to read the last 5 comments for a post.
- Ability to auto refresh a comment stream forĀ near real-time discussions.
- Ability to view images associated with a post or launch them in your default browser.
- Ability to post a “Like” for the selected post.
- Ability to search FriendFeed, with help for the most common search features.
- Ability to display a user’s information and browse to their FriendFeed profile.
- Ability to post to your feed or a subscribed room.
- Ability to associate a Url to a post.
- Ability to upload multiple image with a post.
- Navigation Gestures for all features, no need to use a stylus to navigate between posts.
- Background Communications, allows you to continue to read posts while updates occur in the background.
I hope you find the application as useful and fun to use as I have.
The application requires the .Net Compact Framework 3.5 which can be downloaded below:
